De productie van palmolie voor biobrandstof is een ramp voor het milieu, waarschuwt milieuorganisatie Friends of the Earth Europe maandag. De palmolie vergt veel CO2-uitstoot. De productie leidt tot 423 keer meer broeikasgas CO2 dan de biobrandstof bespaart bij verbranding. Dat blijkt uit een onderzoek in Indonesië door de organisatie. Milieudefensie is bij Friends of the Earth aangesloten.
